I Choose to Trust

Good afternoon everyone....I apologize for last weeks post, apparently something happened between the submit button and the post....I just realized that it was not there.

This week we discussed the option of trusting God with various areas of our life. Whether it be finances, health, relationships, family, or even the church.......the question is how do we fare? When difficult issues arise in your life, is your initial step to solve it on your own....or to take it to God? When things are overwhelming in life....do we take it to God - or try to muddle through on our own? Did this subject hit home for you?

One of the things that I struggle with, personally, is trusting God with my finances. Are we going to have enough to get by....are we going to get through this time....what if the car breaks down....what if someone gets sick....will we have enough money to see us through. While I continue to struggle with this, one of the factors that has helped me to overcome it is time and experience. Every time when that critical point has come up....God has stepped up and delivered on his promises. Not once. Not twice. But time and time again....this has helped me to know that the next time He will do the same.

So how do we initiate this process? First...we need to admit to ourselves that there are things that we cannot control and we have to hand them over to God. Next...Prayer, Prayer, and more Prayer. Whatever the burden may be we have to lay it at the foot of the cross. Now there are going to be times where we pick it back up and start to carry it again....that only shows our need to go back to the cross (remember...Crisis then Process......when the process fails - we have to go back to the Crisis). Finally, watch God work....it's amazing the things that he can do in our lives when we He is in control. That can also be a witness to others.

One last story, when I left my corporate job to become a pastor many, many, many people said "Are you Stupid?" I don't know...maybe I am...but today that trust in God in taking that step has allowed me to witness to those individuals as to how faithful God really is.

Great Discussion today...keep it going right here.

In His Grip
Kevin
